DA-10 Maintenance Guide
I. Daily Maintenance
1.1 After each use, sterilize all accessories including the handpiece, working tips, torque wrench, and endodontic wrench.
1.2 After each clinical scaling procedure, ensure the water supply is active and keep the device running for 30 seconds to flush the handpiece and working tip.
1.3 After treatment, use the wrench to remove the working tip. Clean the surface of the handpiece and tip with an alcohol swab to remove blood stains. Rinse the head and connector area of the handpiece with clean water, then rinse the entire handpiece. Use a 3-way syringe to dry it thoroughly, and place it in a sterilization box for autoclaving.
1.4 After treatment, turn off the power to fully cut off the electricity supply. Rinse the surface of the tail cord with clean water, dry it with a 3-way syringe, and hang it back onto the holder.
II. Periodic Maintenance
2.1 Clean the water inlet regularly and flush the water pipeline. If possible, disassemble and clean the solenoid valve to ensure smooth water flow.
III. Sterilization Instructions
3.1 The handpiece, working tips, and wrenches must be sterilized at 134°C using high-temperature, high-pressure autoclaving. Before sterilization, use compressed air to dry any residual liquid on the handpiece.
3.2 Always remove the working tip from the handpiece before sterilization. Do not mix with other instruments during autoclaving. During use and sterilization, regularly check for any external damage to the handpiece. Do not apply any protective oil to its surface.
3.3 When disinfecting with alcohol, soak a piece of clean dry gauze in 75% ethanol, wipe the surface of the parts to be disinfected twice, and allow to act for 3 minutes. Let air-dry naturally or use a clean dry cloth to wipe off any remaining disinfectant.
IV. Precautions for Use
4.1 Use a non-pressurized water source. The water level should be at least 1 meter above the patient’s head.
4.2 Ensure that the handpiece and tail cord connectors remain dry.
4.3 Do not remove the handpiece while the foot pedal is pressed and the device is vibrating.
4.4 When using the endodontic irrigation function, it is recommended to start at power level 1 and gradually increase to level 3.
4.5 When installing endodontic working tips, ensure they are tightly secured. Do not apply excessive pressure during root canal irrigation. Do not press the foot pedal when the file is not yet inserted into the canal.
4.6 Do not use disposable working tips or tips that do not match the required thread specifications. Mismatched, rough, or rusty threads can damage the handpiece threads and may cause irreparable damage to the ultrasonic scaler.
4.7 Strictly prohibited disinfection methods for the handpiece include:
Boiling the handpiece in any solution
Soaking in iodine, alcohol, glutaraldehyde, or other disinfectants
Heating in ovens or microwave ovens
4.8 Do not pull or tug the tail cord forcefully during use to avoid disconnection between the handpiece and connector.
V. Protection and Storage
5.1 Handle and store the product with care. Keep it away from sources of vibration, and store it in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
5.2 Do not store the device with toxic, corrosive, flammable, or explosive substances.
5.3 If the device is not used for an extended period, power it on and flush water through the system once a month for 5 minutes.
5.4 Store the product in an environment with relative humidity no greater than 90% and temperature between -20°C and 55°C.
5.5 When not in use, turn off the power switch and unplug the device.
